PMK HORNET® High Voltage Differential Probe. ±4000V, 2m cable
The PMK HORNET® high voltage differential probe series offers best-in-class performance over 300MHz bandwidth with high CMRR for today‘s power device design challenges, especially those using wide bandgap devices, such as Si/SiC, thyristors, fast-switching HV diodes, and more.
The ±4000V differential and common-mode input voltage ranges makes HORNET® probes an ideal choice for designing and evaluating power circuits, such as switching power supplies, motor drives, inverter, IGBT circuits and frequency converters in the different voltage classes.
- Broadband >300MHz
- ±4000V
- High CMRR (Common Mode Rejection Ratio)
- 4-type attenuation (100:1, 200:1, 500:1, 1000:1)
- Can be used with any measurement equipment with 50Ω input or 1MΩ input impedance and a 50Ω feed-through termination
This high voltage differential probe series is not for handheld use and for integration into full-automated or manual test stations for high-voltage safety reasons. PMK HORNET® is therefore used as a voltage-measuring component (permanently attached device) in a test system or safety test environment with recommendation to be controlled remotely.
PMK HORNET® series probes have four adjustable input attenuation ranges allowing the user to select the voltage range needed to achieve the lowest noise and best possible resolution. The probe is compatible with any oscilloscope with a 50Ω input impedance and has a user adjustable DC output offset correction range of ±4V (output referred). All PMK HORNET® series probes can be controlled from the controls located on the probe head or via remote control.
A PMK power supply unit is required. These are available with a USB interface and are optionally available with a LAN interface. Remote control of the probe is made possible by the power supply unit allowing:
- Automatic probe detection
- Save and load probe settings to enable reproducible measurements
- Free colour selection of the channel identifier to match the selected oscilloscope input
- Offset zeroing without entering values
- Changing the offset step size when using the probe manually
- Numerical input of the offset voltage to mask DC components in the signal, allowing the user more detailed insight into the signal without overdriving the oscilloscope's input amplifier
- Setting the desired division factor
- Dark switching of the entire keypad for use of the probe in dark chambers
- Keypad lock to protect against unauthorized access and thus against unwanted changes to the settings
- Activate / mute keypad buzzer for manual and remote operation
- Detection and counting of overvoltages or overdriven amplifiers with path detection
- Switchable continuous signalling (beep) when overvoltage (overload) is detected
- The software enables the use of PMK probes in semiconductor testers or in environments that are not accessible or dangerous for the user during operation.
The 1 channel battery pack power supply AP-01 provides >8h of portable and isolated operation, which allows the user the flexibility of where the probe can be used. The AP-01 supplies power only to the probe with no software remote control.
