FaithTech FT835016A-6-1 Bidirectional Battery Cell Simulating Power Supply 6V/1A/6W
The FT8350 Series takes battery simulation to the next level with dual-quadrant operation, allowing each channel to both source and sink current—enabling realistic charging and discharging behaviour across up to 24 isolated channels. Designed for BMS validation, battery R&D, and cell balancing studies, the FT8350 supports wide voltage (up to 20V) and current (up to ±5A) ranges, with high resolution and low noise output across all channels.
Advanced functionality includes pulse and sequence testing, static power consumption mode, and in the A-series, per-channel fault simulation such as open-circuit, short-circuit, and reverse polarity—essential for stress-testing protection mechanisms in BMS systems. The FT8350 supports active/passive balancing testing with equalizing current up to 5A, and offers full automation via Ethernet, RS485, and CAN interfaces. Housed in a compact 3U rackmount chassis, it offers powerful capabilities for engineers building high-reliability battery and energy storage systems.
FT835016A-6-1 Unit range:
- Voltage: 0 to 6V
- Current: 0 to 1A
- Power: 0 to 6W
- Channels: 16
- Dimensions: 3U, standard 19-inch chassis design
Key Features & Performance Highlights
High precision, dual quadrant operation (can both source and sink current) for realistic charging and discharging behaviour.
Up to 24 isolated channels per unit with each channel electrically isolated so they can be used in series or parallel configurations.
Voltage precision up to 0.01% F.S., with voltage resolution as low as 0.1mV.
Current measurement / resolution down to the microamp (μA) level to support ultra low current / standby power testing.
Dual current ranges with automatic switching up to ±5A (depending on model).
Fault simulation (A series only): per channel simulation of faults such as short circuit, open circuit, polarity reversal, etc.
Supports multiple operating modes:
- Power supply mode (for supplying devices)
- Battery simulation / cell emulation
- Charge / discharge modes
- Sequence / pulse testing
Active & passive balancing support: Because channels are bi directional, balancing currents up to 5A are supported.
Static power consumption test capability: can supply devices under test in “sleep/standby” mode and measure their static current draw with high accuracy.
Communication / integration interfaces: LAN, RS485, CAN. Also supports SCPI and Modbus protocols.
USB interface for file import/export and screenshot functionality.
Low temperature drift: voltage temperature drift coefficient specified as < 25 ppm/°C
Compact, rack mount design: standard 19 inch chassis, height 3U.
Applications
BMS (Battery Management System) testing
CMS (Ultra Capacity Management System) testing
Consumer electronics testing such as headphones, mobile phones, tablets etc
Production testing of electric tool products
