Unlike standard ceramic-base tungsten filaments used by many other SEM manufacturers, the Semplor NANOS tungsten filament is made from a different base material with significantly improved thermal conductivity, mechanical robustness, and overall performance. When combined with the unique optimised vacuum design and advanced temperature management of the Semplor NANOS, this enables exceptionally long filament lifetimes - exceeding 1000+ hours. As a result, performance is comparable to, and in many cases exceeds, that of significantly more expensive sources such as CeB6, without the associated high costs, complex handling (service engineer involvement), and long downtime.
